During the luncheon, Mr. Sutt will discuss various pertinent topics including innovation, entrepreneurship, digitalisation, cybersecurity, threats and opportunities, as well as Estonian-Swiss cooperation and its opportunities. Since 1st July, MICA is in place and Mr Bühler will highlight which kind of passporting opportunities this will create for EU companies.

This event is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and the Estonian Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland, and supported by Zondacrypto, a prominent Estonia-based crypto trading company, which holds operating licences in Estonia, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Canada, and recently obtained FINMA approval in Switzerland.

About Andres Sutt

Mr Andres Sutt brings over 30 years of experience in politics, management and leadership. With extensive expertise in bank restructuring, financial sector regulation, e-government, public policy, and energy services.

Mr Sutt is a Member of Parliament and a former Minister of Entrepreneurship and IT. He is currently a member of Economic Affairs Committee. As a Minister he was overseeing the development of e-Estonia ecosystem, raised investments in cyber security and lunched the 5G rollout. He promoted Estonian startup ecosystem and collaboration in innovation between the businesses and universities.

Prior entering the politics, he was a Member of Board at Enefit, Head of Banking at the European Stability Mechanism in Luxembourg and Senior Advisor and member of the Executive Board of the IMF in Washington D.C. Mr Sutt was also Deputy Governor responsible for financial stability at Eesti Pank (Estonian National Bank). He has extensive experience in bank restructuring and crisis management. Mr Sutt is also Member of Estonia-Switzerland parliamentary friendship group.

He has master’s degree in economics and finance (cum laude) from Tartu University, Estonia and has studied management in INSEAD, France. Mr. Sutt is uniquely positioned to provide valuable insights during our business luncheon into the intersection of technology, business and policy making.
