DIRKSCHNEIDER represents much more than just a second project alongside Udo Dirkschneider's band U.D.O. The group, now preparing for a tour, will pay homage to their legendary vocalist’s musical legacy. Udo was one of the main figures in Accept’s success story as a songwriter and founding member in the 1970s. The newest member of the U.D.O. / DIRKSCHNEIDER family, bassist Peter Baltes, also made significant contributions during the Accept era, and together, they created the Balls to the Wall album. The band’s stage presence, completed by Sven Dirkschneider’s clockwork precision drumming and the talented guitar duo of Andrey Smirnov and Fabian “Dee” Dammers, can aptly be described as “Balls to the Wall.”
It’s a fortunate coincidence that the 40th anniversary of Accept's best-selling and most well-known album, released in late 1983, coincides with U.D.O. / DIRKSCHNEIDER's prime. Therefore, DIRKSCHNEIDER is not just performing Balls to the Wall live; they are also thrilled to announce a European tour in the spring of 2025 to celebrate the delayed anniversary of the iconic album! Udo had this to say about these prestigious dates:
“I am really looking forward to bringing my band Accept's ultimate success album back to the stage. Sharing the stage with Peter Baltes and performing Balls to the Wall in its entirety for all of you will be one of the most significant moments of my career.”
DIRKSCHNEIDER will add other surprises to the setlist alongside the 45-minute Balls to the Wall—featuring iconic tracks like the title song, “London Leatherboys,” “Love Child,” and the closing ballad “Winterdreams”—and even bring it to the stage with a new production. Everything is set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this milestone album and to make this tour unforgettable for every metalhead.
