Digit x PyCon is a place where software developers and tech leads gather as a community to learn from practical case studies, personal stories, and experience. It's an event from devs to devs, where we talk about real-life problems and solutions.

Organiser's terms

TERMS AND PRIVACY OF DIGIT CONFERENCE

Digit x PyCon is organised by MTÜ sTARTUpDay, a non-profit organisation founded by Tartu startup community organisations. This document sets out the terms and conditions between MTÜ sTARTUpDay and Digit x PyCon ticket owners and attendees of both virtual and physical events.

By purchasing a ticket to Digit x PyCon, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions.

If you are purchasing a ticket on behalf of another individual, the responsibility is placed on the person purchasing to ensure the person attending the event is aware of these terms and accepts them.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any amended terms and conditions will be posted to digit.dev website. This version of terms and conditions for MTÜ sTARTUpDay is applicable from April 29, 2020.

Events

Access to Digit x PyCon is with a personal ticket purchased from the official ticketing system. Please keep in mind that the ticket contains information about which events are included within the ticket. Some side events might require a separate ticket.

Prices

All prices indicated on digit.dev website are in euros and include Estonian VAT 24%.

Event organisers may ask for a valid ID to verify the ownership of the presented ticket. This may occur at the name badge pick-up and must be shown on request to gain admission to the event venue. If no such verification is provided, the purchased ticket is invalid, and the person will not be granted access to the event.

Any and all other costs associated with your attendance (including travel and accommodation expenses) shall be borne solely by the attendee and MTÜ sTARTUpDay shall have no liability for such costs.

Refund and cancellation policy

All tickets are non-refundable. It is possible to allocate the ticket to a third party by assigning it if the ticket has been fully paid. Ticket holder name, company or any other information can be changed by each ticket holder by logging in the ticketing platform via link provided on the email with the initial ticket or by contacting [email protected]. Each ticket holder will receive a confirmation email.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay will not be liable for granting any visas that are required to attend Digit x PyCon. In case the attendee's visa is not granted, tickets will not be refunded for any event.

Terms of payment

Digit x PyCon uses an e-ticketing platform provided by Fienta Ticketing OÜ. Terms of service are found at Fienta ticketing website. (as of May 20, 2018, on www.fienta.com/terms)

The following methods of payment are available:

Online Estonian bank links of Swedbank, SEB, LHV, Luminor (ex-Nordea), Danske, Coop. And Pocopay payment link.
Online Finnish bank links of Aktia, Alandsbanken, Danske, Handelsbanken, Luminor (ex-Nordea), Omasp, Pohjola, POP Pankki, Säästöpankki, S-Pankki.
Online Latvian bank links of SEB, Luminor (ex-Nordea), Citadele.
Online Lithuanian bank links of Swedbank, SEB, Luminor (ex-Nordea).
Credit card payments with VISA, Mastercard, Maestro.
Invoice payments operated by Fienta Ticketing OÜ.

Verification of payment may be requested for the purpose of resolving possible disputes about the purchase.

Entering the event

After purchasing a ticket for Digit x PyCon you will receive an automatically generated registration confirmation and, after a successful payment, the tickets. If you do not receive a confirmation, be sure to check your junk e-mail box in case it was caught by e-mail filtering. In case you have not received the confirmation, please contact us via email at [email protected]. The confirmation, including a unique barcode, is used for claiming your badge that will grant access to the conference. Badge must be worn at all times in event areas.

The pick-up locations and opening hours will be communicated on the digit.dev website and by email at least 2 weeks prior to the event. When picking up the badge, the customer must present the email ticket with the unique barcode with a valid ID.

Event cancellation, postponement and substitution policy

While speakers and topics are confirmed at least one month before Digit x PyCon, circumstances beyond the control of the organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations, and cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, MTÜ sTARTUpDay reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics if necessary without any liability whatsoever. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on digit.dev webpage as soon as possible.

If the event is being cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (force majeure), ticket buyers will be refunded the total price of the purchased ticket(s). MTÜ sTARTUpDay does not hold itself liable for any other expenses incurred.

In case of rescheduling Digit x PyCon, tickets may be returned by a deadline to be determined by MTÜ sTARTUpDay.

Liability

MTÜ sTARTUpDay will not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to any person or property howsoever caused. MTÜ sTARTUpDay will not be responsible for any tickets that are lost or stolen. Each participant must make provision for his or her own insurance.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay reserves the right to refuse admission to any event or conference for any behavior that it deems unacceptable or for breach of the terms and conditions and the code of conduct.

Privacy Policy

MTÜ sTARTUpDay has the right to collect, process, and use attendees' data (name, e-mail, phone, country, company name, and profile) for the purposes of processing the purchase of the tickets.

Attendees' emails are used to provide information about the following and future Digit x PyCon conferences & its side events and offers relating to content. You can opt out from the newsletter subscription at any time but might be left out of important information about the event.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay is committed to protecting the privacy of its attendees. We do not rent or sell your contact information or other personal information to any third parties. Names of attendees may be used as proof of the event to public sector organisations with a proper cause. Data collected is retained for up to 7 years.

Photography, recording, streaming and other media

Attendees may not broadcast audio or video of sessions at Digit x PyCon. Mobile devices and cameras are allowed at the event. It is allowed to take photos and record for purposes of company or annual reports, company media pieces, marketing materials, etc. Attendees are responsible for compliance with all applicable intellectual property, privacy, and publicity laws, rules, and regulations.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay has the right to film, photograph, and capture attendee likeness with any media at Digit x PyCon without any further approval or any payment to the attendee.

All the content at Digit x PyCon website (www.digit.dev) belongs to MTÜ sTARTUpDay. Using, copying, or spreading the content in any way is not allowed without written permission issued by Digit except for personal, non-commercial use.

MTÜ sTARTUpDay gives permission for one-time reference on published blog posts under the following conditions:

Four (4) sentences can be used to refer to the blog post that has appeared on the digit.dev page.

Referenced sentences must contain a reference to the digit.dev page and a link to the web address of the article to be referenced. If the blog post referred to is not available on the web, the link must be directed to https://www.digit.dev. At the end of the repertoire, there must be another reference to the original article written as "Read more from the Digit x PyCon blog" along with the web address of the referenced article.

Fienta's terms of service for the ticket buyer

Fienta Ticketing OÜ, (henceforth Fienta), registry code 12658162, address Hobujaama 4, Tallinn 10151, e-mail [email protected].

When visiting and using the Fienta web platform (henceforth e-ticket shop), the following terms of service (henceforth terms of service) apply to the user of the e-ticket shop (henceforth Buyer):

Service and tickets
1. The Buyers can buy tickets from the e-ticket shop, which have been added to the e-ticket shop by the organiser of the event (henceforth Organiser).
2. Fienta sells tickets at the request, in the name of and at the expense of the Organiser, and does not have the right to implement or change the ticket price or the Organiser's terms of sale, including buying back tickets or exchanging tickets, compensating for destroyed, lost, stolen or damaged tickets or any other objects related to the event. Fienta is not the Organiser of any of the events.
3. To purchase tickets, the Buyer should select the class of ticket and amounts, and enter the required information, which may vary across events.
4. The Buyer will receive the purchased e-tickets via e-mail immediately after making the payment in their internet bank, by credit card or as a transfer based on an invoice.
5. When purchasing tickets at a reduced price, Fienta does not verify whether the Buyer fulfils the necessary conditions for receiving the reduced price. Purchasing a ticket at a reduced price does not guarantee entrance to the event, and whether the reduced price applies to the person entering with that ticket will be checked on location at the event venue.
Fienta's rights and obligations
1. If the Buyer enters false information, Fienta has the right to block their purchasing rights.
2. If these terms of service are violated, Fienta has the right to unilaterally cease the use of the e-ticket shop for that Buyer and/or terminate the ticket purchasing process.
3. Fienta has the right to use personal data as outlined in the privacy policy.
The Buyer's rights and responsibilities
1. The Buyer has the right to purchase tickets through the e-ticket shop according to the terms of service. In case of violations of these terms, Fienta has the right to limit that right.
2. By carrying out any transactions on the e-ticket shop website, the Buyer confirms that:
  1. he or she is at least 18 years old, a natural person with active legal capacity (natural persons of limited legal capacity aged 7-18 confirm respectively that they have the consent of their legal guardian for using the e-ticket shop, who has provided them with the means to purchase the ticket) or that they are a legal person, whose representative has all rights to use the e-ticket shop on behalf of the legal person and to take on obligations on behalf of that legal person;
  2. he or she fulfils all the terms of service of the e-ticket shop;
  3. he or she has disclosed only correct information;
  4. he or she ensures the confidentiality of their user name and password.
Intellectual property rights
1. All the text, graphics, edited content, all information, all layouts, all drawings, images, HTML, appearance and feel, photos, music, sounds, images, software, videos, design, font and other content (henceforth: material protected by rights) that the users see or read when using the platform (except for the content created by the users that Fienta has the right to use) is the property of Fienta or the Organiser of the event. Material protected by rights is protected in all forms, on all information carriers, and in all existing and future technological solutions. Material protected by rights is protected under local and international copyright and patent laws, as well as other rights and laws pertaining to assets. Users cannot copy, download, use, redesign, reformat or reproduce any of the materials from the platform without the prior written expressed consent from the owner. Using material protected by rights (except if authorised in the terms of service) without Fienta's permission and/or (if applicable) without the authorisation of the owner of the content created by the user is prohibited.
2. Fienta service marks and trademarks (including the name Fienta and Fienta logos) are service marks that belong to Fienta. Other trademarks, service marks, logos and/or trade names that are disclosed through the platform belong to their owners. You cannot copy or use these trademarks, logos or trade names without the written expressed consent of their owners.
Personal data
1. Questions pertaining to the processing of personal data have been regulated by the privacy policies of Fienta and the Organiser, as well as the applicable legal acts.
Liability
1. All rights and obligations related to the tickets are enforced by and notified of by the Organiser and Fienta is not liable for the content, change or fulfilment of these rights and obligations.
2. Fienta is not a representative of the responsible party for the Organiser's or artist's event taking place, its contents, information, advertisement and quality. The responsible party is the Organiser.
3. Fienta is not liable for a delay in the delivery of the ticket, which has been caused by the user of the e-ticket shop entering incorrect information, by the actions of third parties, by interruptions to the internet connection between the e-ticket shop and the client, as well as by any other circumstance beyond Fienta's control.
4. If the event does not take place, if it is postponed or if its location is changed, Fienta is not obligated to buy back or compensate the tickets. The Organiser is responsible for either buying back or compensating the tickets.
Final provisions
1. Fienta reserves the right to change their terms of service by publishing a new redaction on the Fienta website.
2. The usage of the e-ticket shop is subject to the laws of the Republic of Estonia.
3. Disputes arising from using the e-ticket website will be resolved in the Harju County Court according to these terms of service and the laws of the Republic of Estonia. The Buyer, who is a consumer, also has the right to turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee.
