〄 Τι συμβαίνει όταν η αρχαία κινεζική σκέψη μεταφράζεται στις συχνότητες του σύγχρονου ηλεκτρονικού αυτοσχεδιασμού;

Σε έναν κόσμο που κατακλύζεται από το στρες και το multitasking, οι συνθέτες Δημήτρης Ταλαρούγκας και Βασίλης Ρούπας παρουσιάζουν ένα ηχητικό δρώμενο που λειτουργεί ως «άξονας» για τον άνθρωπο του σήμερα. Μια πειραματική προσέγγιση που αναζητά τη Ροή (Wu Wei) μέσα από την ψηφιακή σύνθεση.

Η Καλλιγραφία του Ήχου: Από το Ιδεόγραμμα στο Όνειρο

Η παράσταση επικεντρώνεται στην οικοδόμηση ενός πολυεπίπεδου ηχητικού σύμπαντος. Τα κινεζικά ιδεογράμματα, οι παραδοσιακές στάσεις του Gong Fu, οι αρχές της Παραδοσιακής Κινεζικής Ιατρικής (TCM) και τα ταοϊστικά ποιήματα, λειτουργούν εδώ ως «οδηγοί μουσικής σπαθασκίας».

Το Ντουέτο συνθέτει ένα ηχητικό ψηφιδωτό όπου το αρχαιοελληνικό στοιχείο του Αέρα συναντά την κινεζική κοσμολογία των 5 Στοιχείων. Μέσα από τους ήχους, ζωντανεύουν τα ταοϊστικά πουλιά—σύμβολα των ανώτερων αρετών και της πνευματικής ανύψωσης—ενώ η αιχμηρότητα του Μετάλλου και η ρευστότητα του Νερού σμίγουν με την αέναη κίνηση του Πνεύματος. Κεντρικό σημείο αναφοράς είναι ο μύθος της πεταλούδας του Τζουάνγκ Τζι—μια ηχητική διερεύνηση των ορίων ανάμεσα στην πραγματικότητα και το όνειρο. Κάθε μουσική χειρονομία είναι ένα αποφασιστικό χτύπημα πάνω στη σιωπή που, όπως η πεταλούδα του μύθου, αναρωτιέται για τη φύση της σύγχρονης ύπαρξής μας.

🔸 Ο Βασίλης Ρούπας σπούδασε πιάνο, υπολογιστές ανώτερα θεωρητικά και σύνθεση. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος του Ελληνικού Συλλόγου Συνθετών Ηλεκτροακουστικής Μουσικής (ΕΣΣΗΜ), μέλος της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Ακουστικής Οικολογίας και μέλος της Διεθνούς Εταιρείας Αυτοσχεδιαζόμενης Μουσικής. Είναι επίσης ιδρυτής του πειραματικού σχήματος RSLG Quartet.

🔸 Ο Δημήτρης Ταλαρούγκας είναι συνθέτης, πολυοργανίστας και αυτοσχεδιαστής με ενεργή παρουσία στον χώρο της σύγχρονης και πειραματικής μουσικής. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της "Ορχήστρας της Θάλασσας", δημιουργός του συνόλου "Εν-Πλήθος", DUO q10, Rei-zen-ce, καθώς και μέλος του Συνδέσμου Συνθετών Ηλεκτροακουστικής Μουσικής. Σπούδασε Θεωρητικά στο Ωδείο "Νίκος Σκαλκώτας" στην Αθήνα και Σύνθεση στην Ανώτατη "Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών"(Hdk) στο Βερολίνο. 〄 What happens when ancient Chinese thought is translated into the frequencies of contemporary electronic improvisation? In a world overwhelmed by stress and multitasking, composers Dimitris Talarougas and Vassilis Roupas present a sonic event that acts as an "axis" for the modern human. An experimental approach that seeks the Flow (Wu Wei) through digital composition.

The Calligraphy of Sound: From Ideogram to Dream The performance focuses on building a multi-layered sonic universe. Chinese ideograms, traditional Gong Fu stances, the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Taoist poems function here as "guides for musical swordsmanship."

The duo composes a sonic mosaic where the ancient Greek element of Air meets the Chinese cosmology of the 5 Elements. Through the sounds, Taoist birds—symbols of higher virtues and spiritual elevation—come to life, while the sharpness of Metal and the fluidity of Water blend with the eternal movement of the Spirit. A central point of reference is the myth of Zhuangzi’s butterfly—a sonic exploration of the boundaries between reality and dream. Every musical gesture is a decisive strike against silence which, like the butterfly of the myth, questions the nature of our modern existence.

🔸 Vassilis Roupas studied piano, computers, advanced music theory, and composition. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Association of Electroacoustic Music Composers (HELMCA/ΕΣΣΗΜ), a member of the Hellenic Society for Acoustic Ecology, and a member of the International Society for Improvised Music (ISIM). He is also the founder of the experimental ensemble RSLG Quartet.

🔸 Dimitris Talarougas is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and improviser with an active presence in the field of contemporary and experimental music. He is a founding member of the "Orchestra of the Sea," creator of the ensemble "En-Plethos," DUO q10, and Rei-zen-ce, as well as a member of the Hellenic Association of Electroacoustic Music Composers. He studied Music Theory at the "Nikos Skalkottas" Conservatory in Athens and Composition at the Berlin University of the Arts (HdK/UdK).

His compositions (48 Formations, Boswellia Carteri, Tetraktys, "The Water That Sleeps Not," Thrimmaton Armogi, ZOOsoundDISTRACTIONS, Modular Flowers, Dactylos, War, RENGA - a collective electroacoustic work, Antidote to Confusions, Music for the CITY A1, etc.) have been presented at the "Institut für neue Musik," the "Neue Musik im Foyer" series (HdK) in Berlin, events of the "Association of Greek Scientists," the Technical University (TU) of Berlin, the Athens School of Fine Arts, the "Filippos Nakas" Concert Hall, the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron), the Hellenic American Union, the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, the Ancient Theater of Argos, "Kunst-Werke" (KW- Berlin Institute for Contemporary Art), and more.
