Anshita Koul returns with her international Award-winning comedy story telling show “Where Is Your Husband?” to Zurich

Fresh from winning the award as part of the International Fringe Encore series, two weeks residency of her show off-broadway at SoHo Playhouse NYC and 5 stars industry reviews, internationally touring and critically acclaimed comedian Anshita Koul returns to Zurich with her solo show Where Is Your Husband? — a mind-bending, heart-breaking, booty-shaking true tale of love, loss, and cognitive dissonance.

Anshita performed the show in Zurich when it was still a baby and is now returning after touring with the show all over Europe, NYC and with an award at Thessaloniki Fringe Festival. Theatre Beyond Broadway writes,

“an act of brave, confessional storytelling that is deeply funny, disarmingly honest, and structurally precise.”

Another reviewer from All About Solo gave the show 5 stars and said,

“rich, powerful and unexpectedly one of the funniest pieces of theatre I have seen this year.”

In this deeply personal and whip-smart hour, “One to Watch” and Funny Women UK Stage Awards finalist Koul transforms the most frequent—and invasive—question from her social media DMs into comedic gold.

What starts as awkward curiosity becomes a masterclass in storytelling, where everyday absurdities are alchemized into sharp and heartfelt comedy routines. At its core, the show is about confronting expectations, identity, and loss — with laughter leading the way.

It has already received raging audience reviews from the previous legs of the tour in 14 EU cities. As one audience member in Vienna put it:

“This show was so good, hilarious, emotional, everything you could want in the hands of a wonderful storyteller.” — Annie S.

About Anshita Koul

Anshita Koul is an independent artist, host&producer and a driving force in Berlin’s comedy scene. They produce and host multiple shows, including Berlin’s only QTIBIPOC lineup night, and regularly tour internationally with her English-language comedy.

A seasoned polyglot comedian with 4 solo shows under their belt, Koul has created a name for themselves in the English comedy scene in Europe with their political satires, funny punch up routines and an unfunny itch to decolonise standup comedy.

Anshita started her standup career on Indian reality TV show TLC presents Queens of Comedy 2017. In 2022, she was the only comedian from Europe to make it to Funny Women Awards Finals in the UK and was also seen opening for Emmy Award winner comedian Vir Das on his European comedy tour Mindfool in October 2024.
