SoulJam returns to House of Music on May 2nd for a special edition bringing together Berlin’s vibrant jam culture and international talent. This night features a unique live collaboration between the SoulJam house band and Kimmortal, followed by an open jam session and house DJ Sean Steinfeger to carry the energy into the late hours.
Kimmortal is a queer Filipinx artist from Canada whose work moves fluidly between singing and rapping over layered hip-hop production. Their artistry is defined by a balance of subversive energy and grounded vulnerability, with their third album Shoebox exploring themes of intergenerational healing, 2SLGBTQ+ identity, and inner child work. Their music has been featured in major productions including The L Word: Generation Q, Apex Legends, and Sort Of, earning a Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Song. Known for a powerful and dynamic stage presence, Kimmortal has shared stages with artists such as Thundercat, Saul Williams, Shad, Ruby Ibarra and Gabriel Teodros.
SoulJam is a Berlin-based jam session collective and event series creating immersive, community-driven music experiences since 2021. At the heart of each night is an international house band delivering fully improvised sets that blend funk, hip-hop, soul, and house into a dynamic, evolving sound. Each event moves from live performance into an open jam where musicians are invited to participate, creating a space for collaboration, spontaneity, and exchange across Berlin’s diverse music scene and beyond.
