About Nomine:

Nomine, also known as Outrage, is a UK electronic music artist that started his journey in the mid 90s. A DJ and producer known for a heavyweight, world music inspired sound built on sub bass, rhythm and atmosphere. He launched the Nomine project in 2012, initially anonymous, and was soon signed to Tempa, releasing five EPs and a vinyl album that helped establish the Nomine sound internationally. He also runs Nomine Sound, a dedicated label platform with over 30 releases.

Nomine’s music is used widely across global movement culture, from contemporary dance to pole, belly dance and tango, with high profile moments including music featured at Madonna’s 60th birthday celebration and ongoing personal use by Cirque du Soleil performers. He has recently been performing at ecstatic dance events, where the Nomine sound brings a no rules blend of bass weight (Ecstatic Bass Orgy) and global musical colour into movement led spaces. He has launched Dance To Nomine, a movement led project built around collaborations with dancers, musicians and event partners worldwide, developing an annual body of work and live formats designed to be staged and filmed in different cities. Alongside Nomine, his Outrage releases continue through platforms including Goldie’s Metalheadz Platinum, Adam F, Kirsty Hawkshaw’s 181 Label, Time Reapers’ Future Retro and his own Backlash label.

Alongside his artist career, he founded Education & Bass in 2017, a music technology education platform that has supported learners across schools, alternative provision and specialist settings, reflecting a wider commitment to accessibility and long term impact through music.

Some information for newcomers:

Ecstatic Dancing invites people to connect to themselves and others through music and freestyle dancing. It takes place over a 2-hour live DJ set and starts and finishes with a short opening and closing circle. There are no teachers or rules, but we ask you to follow a few guidelines:

1. No talking on the dance floor. You are welcome to communicate with others with your body language, but please keep words outside the space.

2. No shoes. Barefoot Dancing helps us ground ourselves by creating direct contact between our feet and the floor. Ecstatic Dance is best practiced barefoot, but you can also wear socks if you wish to.

3. No drugs/alcohol. Ecstatic Dance is a conscious practice embracing mindfulness.

4. Phone-free zone. Please keep your phones off/silent and out of sight.

5. Respect for self and others. We ask participants to take responsibility for themselves, watch out for others, and be mindful of their personal space.

6. Photographs :There will be a few videos taken of the DJ/Facilitator and a few subtle shots of silhouetted dancers or feet. The aim is for dancers to not be identifiable in footage but to have something to capture the energy to use in promotions. If you are unable or prefer not to be in any footage please let someone on the team know. You can do this at any time including id we've shared something you feel is too recognisable. Our aim is to allow dancers to drop into the dance space without worrying about how they look or move.

7. Have fun!
