The film follows Denji as a new relationship promises escape from his brutal routine. What begins as flirtation gradually reveals deeper conspiracies, forcing him to confront how much of his humanity he is willing to sacrifice for affection. Yoshihara balances grotesque action with moments of stillness, allowing vulnerability to puncture the chaos.
The CHAINSAW MAN franchise already reshaped contemporary anime through its cinematic staging and refusal to soften its brutality. This feature pushes that ambition further, borrowing pacing and framing from live-action thrillers.
