Over the weekend of November 9 & 10, Renegade Craft brings together artists, food vendors, and more to create this lively marketplace. This fair is created by artists, desingers and dreamers and meant to move everyone through the love of art. The event takes place in the heart of <a href0"https://loving-newyork.com/things-to-do-in-chelsea-nyc/"Chelsea neighborhood which is another great place to visit while in New York City.

The fair started as a project between friends in 2003. Created in Chicago from a desire to create a marketspace that represented the art and aeasthetic of creative individuals. Storefronts and other spaces were not sufficient or good for the spirirt of Doing It Yourself. Etsy did not exist as a hub for online commerce for handmade, crafty items. Therefore, makers (of goods) needed a space where their art could be represented and showcased in an enviroment that represented their spirit. What started as a 1 day festival in Chicago's artistitc Wicker Park area has now exploded. Through the 1 day event, the idea was cemented that other artists wanted new spaces to sell their designs and that the public enjoyed coming to these spaces. Now, the company helps cater the impressive artistic marketplace at Pitchfork Music Festival also held in Chicago as well as other markets in cities like New York.
