CPPM OPEN CLASS: GUILLAUME PIGÉ (Theatre Re)

MA in Contemporary Physical Performance Making (CPPM) is a ground-breaking course that takes postgraduate education out of the classroom and puts practical experience with world-leading makers of performance at the heart of the learning process. Students are working alongside some of the most exciting directors, choreographers, performance makers, artists and companies across the world to further their own artistic practice through active collaboration, devising and performance. It is very important to us that all those international students who study the CPPM curriculum and those world-renowned performance makers who come to Estonia to teach them in Estonia, do not just stay between the four walls of the academy. CPPM Open Class is a series of events where anyone interested can take a look at the otherwise hidden rehearsal and creative processes. At the end of each open class, interviews with the guests will also take place to reveal even more about their creative processes.

GUILLAUME PIGÉ

Guillaume Pigé is a multi-talented artist with a diverse background in acting, directing, mime, and magic. He founded Theatre Re in 2009 and has since served as its Artistic Director. Guillaume received his training at the Conservatory of Villeurbanne (FR) and the International School of Corporeal Mime in London, where he studied under Corinne Soum, Steven Wasson, Thomas Leabhart, and Daniel Stein. He also holds an MA in Text and Performance Studies from King’s College & RADA. In addition to directing and performing in all of Theatre Re's productions to date, Guillaume has worked as a Movement Director with various other artists and institutions. He is also an Associate Teacher at RADA and regularly conducts workshops in the UK, the US, and France. Recently, he was commissioned by The National Theatre (UK) to produce a new literal translation of Tartuffe by Molière. Since 2014, Guillaume has been an Associate Artist at the South Hill Park Arts Centre (UK).
