LÄBU (“a mess” in Estonian) is what we all must deal with after a long night of celebrations. It´s the physical pain in a body full of vivid sensations. The noise in a head filled with joyful thoughts. It´s our private space reduced to a total mess.
After 3 months of highly intensive workshops guided by a team of inspiring artists from all kinds of places and practices, the CPPM students are faced with the impossible challenge to make immediate sense of the overload of information. They are required to distill the essence of what inspired them the most, integrate it into their own artistic practice and make an exciting solo performance out of it. And it must happen in less than 2 weeks. The result, LÄBU, will be shown to an audience on 2 different occasions. What for? The Laboratory in which innovation is concocted is a messy place, LÄBU, where chance plays a major role. We are not looking for well-polished plays, we want these works to be truly experimental, and artists to be a bit reckless. Therefore we call them solo prototypes, hypotheses of groundbreaking creative practice yet to come. And You are invited to join us, in the LÄBU of contemporary performance.

KREETE TARMO (EST)
„The joy of struggle“
Created and performed by Kreete Tarmo
Lighting design: Rommi Ruttas, Jari Matsi
Costume support: Epp Vislapuu
You are hungry, you struggle.
You get sick, you struggle.
You get injured, you still struggle.
You want to learn something, you struggle.
You want your dreams to become true, you struggle.
You are stuck, you struggle.
You are at work, you are super tired, you need to focus, you can not, you struggle.
You can’t sleep, you struggle.
You are in a relationship, you struggle.
You are not in a relationship, you struggle.
You study, you improve, you practice, you choose, you fail, you stay strong, you cry, you push, you nail it, you still struggle.
Struggles do not finish. One gets solved, new ones come up, if they did not already. There’s no struggle, there are struggles.
This solo is going to be about enjoying struggles. That’s the intention. The intention to enjoy struggling.

…and then she told me that there is something more to it, something that makes a difference, creates questions and invites to dance in a waterfall high up in the mountains. I was not quite sure how to move on, how to discover the way, how to forget the borders and dive into the ocean fearlessly, surfing the waves and breathing with my every pore. She said it is about seeing eyes closed. And it starts with the leaves falling into darkness, and with jade shining from within. It is on you - to dare.
Someone is busy spelling hallucination on the floor while letting sounds out. You disturb me with your tak-tak-tak! Can you stand someone’s joy? Why cannot you handle the sounds of pleasure but happily replay over and over again the sounds of pain and fear and terror and anger? I’m just enjoying the smell of a flower, folks, it’s okay!
Thank you: Saida Désilets, Giacomo Veronesi, Hannes Langolf and all CPPM guest artists, CPPM family
ELO JÄRV (EST)
„Zoomed in“
Created and performed by Elo Järv
With the help of: Rebecca McCarthy
Lighting design: Rommi Ruttas, Jari Matsi
Zoomed in eye. Zoomed in blinking. Zoomed in smile. Zoomed in wrinkles. Zoomed in cold sores. Zoomed in nose-blowing. Zoomed in tears. Zoomed in hiding tears. Zoomed in listening intently. Zoomed in listening intently (faked). Zoomed in listening intently while posting a picture on Instagram. Zooming in on your crush on a Zoom call. Imagining your crush zooming in on you. Zoomed in dissatisfaction. Zoomed in fear. Zoomed in heartbreak. Zoomed in perfect reaction to heartbreak.
Zoomed in perfect reaction to any situation.
Thank you: family and CPPM family, guest artists and Giacomo and Jüri, Margot and Alex and Linda and Maarja and Merlin and Maria and Roos

peculiar practice paralysis
do try this at home
inside the hermetic
hermetic dreams
hermetic home procedures
hermetic hacks
complete and airtight
on board of that hermetic capsule
not affected by outward influence or power; isolated.
a hermetic paradox
a hermetic portrait
This performance touches upon a private process inside the 4 walls of my room in the years of 2003 - 2009. I closed the door and established the atmosphere by turning off the lights and turning on a globe lamp that filled the room with magical blue light. The globe lamp was a present from my father. I heard my father play guitar in the other room. I placed the notebook on the table. I opened the chosen folder in my computer. I made a cup of green tea to be completely ready. Then I reached for the most suitable object…
