Compás Band - Flamenco & Copla

Be welcome to “Compás Band” debut concert at Centro Picasso! Compás Band is a new project that rearranges modern covers of the classics of two Spanish music traditions: Flamenco and Copla.

While Flamenco is a music tradition which origin its still uncertain, gathering elements of Spanish, Gypsy, Muslim, Jewish and Greek ancient music traditions, Copla is a genre of Spanish popular songs born in the beginning of XXth century, in which elements of Flamenco music joined together with the voice of popular singers of the time, romantic (or tragic) lyrics and classical instruments such as piano or even whole orchestras, resulting in memorable songs that became part of Spanish pop culture up till today.

This project aims to take classics of the history of Flamenco and Copla and rearrange them for the shape of trio (voice, guitar and flute), resulting in modern versions of this Spanish musical heritage.

The first public appearance of Compás Band took place on ETV+ show “Letnjaja Studija” in August 2020, and its debut concert will take place at Centro Picasso (Pikk jalg 3-15), on Saturday the 31st of October, at 20:00.

The ticket price is 15 €. The maximum capacity (as per current restrictions on public events) is 25 people.
