COME AND SEE film screening

Wednesday 10. September at 20:30 - 22:50

FOMO Secret Cinema, Tbilisi

Elem Klimov’s COME AND SEE has been variously described as one of Cinema’s most harrowing anti-war masterpieces; a soul-shattering descent into humanity’s darkest chapter. The story follows a young Belarusian boy swept into the chaos of WWII. Shot with haunting long takes, immersive sound design, and an unflinching realism, the film captures the psychological devastation of war with unprecedented intensity.

Aleksei Kravchenko’s raw performance in the lead is quite possibly the finest performance from a child actor in the history of cinema.

Think of COME AND SEE less a war film, and more as a visceral descent into humanity’s darkest depths, a landmark of Soviet cinema that continues to shake audiences decades later.
