Ryan Chetiyawardana (A.K.A Mr. Lyan) has been involved in several of the world's best bars for over fifteen years. He is the founder of Dandelyan in London, which got #1 at the 'World 50 Best Bars' in October of this year. He has been named 'UK Bartender of the Year' twice and in 2015 was named ‘International Bartender of the Year’.
The drinks guru has two Mr. Lyan bars. His first, White Lyan, the first cocktail bar in the world to feature no perishables, which was awarded 'Best New International Cocktail Bar' at the 2014 Spirited Awards, closed to make way for Super Lyan in April 2017, whilst Dandelyan launched on Southbank within the Mondrian Hotel in October 2014.
His most recent venture, the sustainably driven restaurant Cub, opened in 2017. The project is a collaboration between Ryan and Doug McMaster, the chef behind Brighton’s pioneering zero-waste restaurant Silo, with added input from Dr. Arielle Johnson, former resident scientist at Noma. The way that food and drink interact at Cub will be the driving force between the collaboration of Ryan and Estonia’s top team Orm Oja & Tõnis Siigur. The audience will have the opportunity to sample their menu along with some very special drinks. Non-alcoholic cocktails will also be available during the dinner.
