Cecil Beaton's Fashionable World - Robin Muir

We welcome back Robin Muir, hot on the heels of curating the latest sell out exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery showcasing the work of Cecil Beaton's fashion and portrait photography. We will be treated to a slide show of dazzling images from his exhibition, from Royalty to Elizabeth Taylor to Audrey Hepburn to name but a few. Beaton is described as one of the century's greatest photographers but he was also a cartoonist, a playwright and a costume designer, winning Oscars for the costumes of both My Fair Lady & Gigi. He was a fierce social climber and Royalty, High Society and Movie Stars attended his parties about which he quipped in his diary that it represented 'a lifetime of social climbing' also quipping 'not born with a silver spoon in my mouth – I definitely helped to put it there' – also a great wit.
