Boreland Wildlife Walk

Sunday 21. June at 10:00 - 13:00

Boreland Village Hall, Lockerbie

A free wildlife talk and guided walk by Malcolm Haddow from SWSEIC along the Dryfe Water in Boreland.

We'll meet at the Boreland Town Hall at 10am. Parking is available on site.

We’ll then go out for a walk along the river looking for and talking about the various wild plants, insects, birds and any other wildlife we can find along the route. We'll introduce you to these species and provide insights into their ecology, distribution and cultural heritage.

We'll also touch on the importance of citizen science and wildlife recording for monitoring these species in the face of the climate & biodiversity crisis.

The event is free to attend, and anyone is welcome. Numbers are restricted to 20 attendees max so spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The route is pathed but is uneven and muddy in places so outdoor footwear is advised. A jacket in case of rain and some water is also recommended.

This event was made possible by funding awarded by the National Lottery community fund.
