Bog-shoe hike in Kõrvemaa (english group)

The bog-shoe hike takes place in the Kõnnu Suursoo bog in the North-Kõrvemaa Nature Reserve, just a 1-hour drive from Tallinn. The surrounding landscape with its hills and valleys, is often called the “Swiss Alps of Estonia”, offering great views and a truly unique bog experience.

We start the hike near the RMK Järvi Pärnjärve campsite (exact starting point will be sent to participants). In the bog, we’ll move at a relaxed pace, giving you time to notice the beauty of the bog landscape, take photos and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Along the way, we'll talk about the bog, its unique nature and stop for a snack break. If you wish, you can go for a swim in a bog pool located in a peaceful spot away from the boardwalk. Hiking on bog shoes, we will reach the watching tower from where we will continue back to the starting point on the boardwalk without the bog shoes.

Transportation from Tallinn/Rae parish and back can be booked for an extra fee of 10€ per person. There are 3 seats available on the transport. Difficulty: Moderate. No prior bog-shoes experience is required, suitable for first-timers.
Distance: 4-5 km (a combination of walking and bogshoeing)

Hike includes:

• English-speaking hiking guide

• Use of bog-shoes and trekking poles

• Sitting mats for the break

• Small snack and tea

• Mosquito repellent

What to bring:

• Rubber boots

• Layered warm clothing suitable for the weather (including a hat)

• Small backpack with water bottle

• Swimwear and a towel if you would like to swim

If you don't have rubber boots, you can rent a lightweight pair from us for 5€. Simply add boots rental to your booking through Fienta.

The hike requires at least 3 participants; if this isn’t met, tickets will be fully refunded.
