Biological approach to immediate implantation. By Dr. Krasimir Zlatev and Dr. Natalja Kull

Friday 22. May at 09:00 - Saturday 23. May 2026 at 17:00

Hilton Tallinn Park

We invite you to a high-level training dedicated to biologically guided immediate implantation and modern protocols of hard and soft tissue reconstruction.

Dr. Dr. Krasimir Zlatev and Dr. Natalja Kull are among Europe’s most experienced clinicians and educators in BBA (Biological Bone Augmentation) and IDR (Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration) techniques.

This course provides a clear and practical understanding of the biological mechanisms that define the success, aesthetics, and long-term stability of immediate implantation.

• Active member and instructor of the International BBA Academy
• Co-instructor at the MIB (My Implant Business) educational platform
• Co-founder of vitalboneexperts.com

Dr. Dr. Krasimir Zlatev (Bulgaria)

PROGRAM

Day 1 — Theoretical Session

Lecture: Dr. Natalja Kull

“Effective Alveolar Ridge Augmentation: Biological Principles and Practical Application”

• Indications and requirements for alveolar ridge expansion
• The role and biological advantages of autogenous bone
• Modern bone substitute materials: possibilities and limitations
• Biological foundations of the Khoury technique
• Practical applications of BBA (Biological Bone Augmentation)
• Biologically guided augmentation: minimally invasive, predictable outcomes
• Clinical cases and decision-making logic

Lecture 2: Dr. Dr. Krasimir Zlatev

“IDR – Biological Approach to Immediate Implantation”

Theoretical content includes:
• Biological Decision Tree – a modern treatment decision model
• What IDR is and how it differs from the classical workflow
• Classification of extraction sockets (literature overview)
• Da Rosa classification of alveolar defects
• Implant requirements within the IDR protocol
• Biology of tuberosity-derived bone grafts
• CBCT with soft-tissue contrast – why it matters
• Digital workflows and backward planning
• Minimally invasive extraction: instruments, technique, clinical risks
• Debridement and disinfection protocol
• Bone harvesting methods: osteotomes, donor sites, graft types
• 3D implant positioning in IDR cases
• Osteotomy preparation and alveolar reconstruction
• IDR combined with osseodensification (Versah protocol)
• Sinus crest approach for IDR cases
• The intraoperative prosthetic stage

Clinical Case Analysis

(photos, surgical videos, CBCT before surgery, on the day of surgery, and 4+ months post-op)

• Premolar implants (maxilla and mandible)
• Molar region
• Single implant in the aesthetic zone
• Multiple implants in the aesthetic zone
• Infectious sockets (granuloma, fistula)
• Compromised sockets due to root fracture
• Orthodontic extrusion + IDR
• IDR in periodontally compromised patients
• Prevention and management of complications

Day 2 — Hands-on Workshop (pig mandibles)

Case 1 — Intact Socket

• Atraumatic tooth extraction
• Implant placement
• Bone harvesting from the tuberosity (straight osteotome + mallet)
• Filling the socket with particulate autogenous bone
• Placement of a temporary crown and titanium abutment

Case 2 — Compromised Socket

• Reconstruction of the buccal bone wall
• Implant placement + defect assessment
• Bone harvesting with curved osteotomes
• Shaping and adapting a cortico-cancellous graft
• Closing the socket using an individualized temporary abutment

Each hands-on block begins with instructional surgical videos.
