🌈 In a world obsessed with labels, we choose liberation.

Beyond the Binary is a celebration of gender in motion — where masculinity, femininity, and everything in between collide, blur, and transform.

Step into a space where gender is not fixed, but felt.

While honoring ballroom structure (some categories remain divided for MF, FF, BQ, FQ,™, GNC etc), this night invites you to interpret those categories through your own truth. Beyond the Binary is about the in-between, the undefined, the limitless.

The focus is not who you are on paper, but how you feel, how you move, and what you bring to the floor. 

Come as you are — or as you’ve never dared to be.

This event is part of the official Baltic Pride 2026 programme.

Bring a look that challenges fixed ideas of gender and expression.
Play with contrast, transformation, or ambiguity — masculine, feminine, both, or neither.

These can live anywhere: in fabrics, silhouettes, textures, colors, or movement.  

This is not about fitting into a category — it’s about defining it for yourself.

Dressing according to the theme is compulsory to participants. Spectators may work whatever look they please!

WHAT IS BALLROOM

Ballroom was created by black and latin trans women back in Harlem, New York at the late 1960s, due to racism they faced within the white pageant scene. Ballroom is an underground subculture by and for the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community and it is a space where participants walk different categories in beauty, body, fashion and performance.

If you are not from the community, please be mindful of the space you take. If you would like to walk/participate, learn and study the categories beforehand. If there's any questions, please contact the organizer team and they will help you.

The venue will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, national origin, genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, gender (including gender identity and expression) or any other characteristic.

Breaking the atmosphere will result in you being asked to leave!
