Auditory Reset: Jellantsje de Vries (Luther Adams & Berio)

Auditory Reset is a new initiative of an ongoing concert programme line starting from October 2022, in A Lab in Amsterdam Noord. Every second Tuesday of a month, from 18:00 till 18:30, we are going to present amazing musicians with intriguing performances.

On the 11th of October, an amazing Dutch violinist Jellantsje de Vries will present a duo of contrasting tempers - Three High Places from John Luther Adams and Sequenza VIII for violin by Luciano Berio.
These works form two opposites that spring from the same source: one note. In Three High Places, this is done in a tranquil way, as if it has always existed and every day in the same way, calm and imperturbable.
In Sequenza VIII, on the other hand, it is fiery and capricious, as if it could change direction, deform or explode at any time.
