The annual conference will once again be a whole family day out. This time with Christopher Ash speaking to us from the Psalms.
Christopher's two addresses and sermon will focus on 'Missionary Psalms,' looking at the surprising, exciting, even breathtaking way in which the Psalms speak beyond their old covenant context and overflow into a gospel for the whole world.
Morning exposition 1: Psalm 22 Mission and the Cross of Christ.
We know Psalm 22 especially because of how it begins (My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?). But the ending is astonishing. It shows us how the gospel of the cross is the engine of worldwide mission.
Morning exposition 2: Psalm 87 Mission and Unlikely People
In this beautiful and surprising psalm we learn how the most unlikely people are brought in to the people of God. The psalm encourages us to press on with joyful confidence in mission.
Afternoon sermon: Psalm 45 Mission and the Beauty of Jesus
In this unique psalm we see how the beauty of Jesus our bridegroom brings blessing and life all round the world and all through time.
