Join us for a special evening of improvised acoustic music at Circle in Cube hosted by Daylight Project. The rules are simple: three experimental musicians and three solo performances. No amplification and no electronics. Just body, instrument, and, of course, the attention and care of you—our dear listeners. NB! The address to the venue will be sent to you when you purchase a ticket.
The music of Berlin-based composer and guitarist Torsten Papenheim is located somewhere between melody and noise – to be taken either as a combination or a counterpoint. In his compositions he often works with unusual tunings and deliberately uses ambiguities to enable improvisational freedom in the interpretation of his works. His solo works deal with time and repetition, subtle changes and harsh contrasts. His live sets are re-improvisations, concerts, performances, sound installations. Over the years he has played solo performances all over Europe, using prepared and non-prepared guitar as well as mini-disc-players and dictaphone.
Kristjan Kannukene is an Estonian violist, singer, electric guitarist, performer-composer & improviser. In his artistic practice he is researching the connection between viola and voice, combining different traditions and aesthetics, and turning visual symbols into sounds. Sacredness and primitiveness have been an important part of his expression, the sound of which can be heard on the album "333".
Darja Goldberg is a musician who primarily plays the accordion. Her musical journey has taken her repertoire from classical music and piano accompaniment to Brazilian jazz, French waltz, and contemporary improvisation, which she is now focused on. She sees her mission as removing the accordion from its old prejudices and bringing it to people with a new sound experience, reaching as many people as possible. This can happen through new interdisciplinary projects, cooperation with other artists and doing everything possible that others say is not.
