Your guide is Taavi Ram, who has over 20 years of experience on the djembe. In each class we take on specific rhythms and build them up step by step, from single strokes to a full part. The course runs through the autumn and winter season, so there’s time to progress at a steady pace.
🪘 There are only 8 drums to borrow. If you don’t have your own djembe, buy your ticket in advance. Once the drums are booked, there may be no free drums left on site.
If you bring your own djembe, you have more time to decide, but a ticket still secures your spot.
𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫
This class suits you if you’ve been drumming for a while and know the basic strokes. We don’t start from scratch every Tuesday; we keep moving forward from week to week.
What we learn on Tuesdays doesn’t stay in the room: our Angel Beach Fire and Drum collective has already played at nearly ten different events. When a new opportunity comes up, Drum Lessons participants are first in line, and it often means free entry to the event. Performing is always voluntary: you join when you want to.
Complete beginner? Start with the Thursday drum circle. That’s where you’ll learn the basics, and Tuesday will be waiting for you after that.
