Master the art of live storytelling

Everyone has a story in them. But telling personal stories may not come naturally to everyone.

In this three-part workshop for adults, you can learn how to tell a rich and personal story and bring audiences with you on the journey.

What is storytelling?

Storytelling is the social and cultural activity of sharing stories, sometimes with improvisation, theatrics or embellishment. Every culture has its own stories or narratives, which are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation or instilling moral values. If you're new to storytelling, I recommend checking out Mike Birbiglia and The Moth Hour on Youtube.

What should I bring with me?

Please bring a notebook and pen. You don't need to come with a story in mind. I will provide you with a story. Over the three days, I will take you step by step through the process of retelling an existing story, finding your own story and identifying the message.

There will also be plenty of games and group work so it is essential that participants can attend all 3 sessions.

Timing

A 3-day workshop with breaks for refreshment.
11:00-16:00 on 20, 21 and 27 July.
The €5 participation fee will cover the cost of tea and coffee over the three dates.
Because of space limitations, advance registration is compulsory.

The instructor

Jess Bauldry is a journalist, writer and performer of stand-up comedy. A UK/Luxembourg national, she co-founded feminist comedy festival Festrogen and is part of the Luxembourg comedy collective Frilly Curtains Comedy. Both host storytelling events.

This workshop is run in collaboration with Rosa Letzebuerg at its community meeting place, The Rainbow Center.
