Kalamaja museum • Kotzebue 16, 10411 Tallinn, Harju county, Estonia

All tickets have been sold out.

On April 18th, we'll explore Ukrainian cooking and prepare some traditional dishes, including the famous Ukrainian Borscht. There's a saying that everyone has their own Borscht recipe, and this one is no different. Pavlo will lead us in cooking a modernized recipe that combines Southern and Central Ukrainian traditions. It's designed to be ready in just two hours, starting from making a vegetarian broth, to the finished dish. We'll also have a fun quiz about Ukrainian cuisine and cooking history, with prizes for the winners.
In the time left after cooking, Pavlo works as a consultant in the domains of investment strategy and behavioral finance and teaches various finance courses at TalTech. He's originally from Ukraine, where he lived in different places, including Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and a small town in the Sumy region. In 2015, he moved to Estonia and has mostly stayed here since then. Pavlo is a faithful Kalamaja resident and often attends "Tastes of Kalamaja" events.

“Flavours of Kalamaja” is a monthly hands-on cooking event, taking place in the kitchen of the Kalamaja museum. People meet once a month to make delicious dishes, sometimes using local historical recipes and the guidance of current and former residents of Kalamaja. At these events we socialize in Estonian as well in English if needed.
