I & I: Beat Down Babylon (1972) Listening session

Join us tomorrow at I & I, to experience the special and cosmic ways of producing that came out the Black Ark Studio. To commemorate the recent passing of Junior Byles, Marcel van den Berg will be hosting a listening session leading with the iconic album Beat down Babylon (1972), produced by Lee Perry.

This evening is dedicated to the husky, soft, timbres of reggae echoing the timeless protest towards Babylon’s evil ways. Also referencing Marcel van den Berg’s installations as part of Metro54’s BLUEPRINT: Whose Urban Appropriation is this?, hosted by TENT in 2017 and at Amsterdam Museum in 2023
