Welcome beautiful community to monthly Rope Jams in PlaySpace, hosted by Henrik & Popsicle.

First things first, what is shibari?
When asking someone what Shibari is, you will get many different answers. Everything from a tool for connection, meditation, a way of expanding conciousness, sensual play, erotic, power dynamics, artistic, the list goes on.

The word "Shibari" means "to tie" in Japanese, and it has deep roots in the ancient martial arts and Hojo-jutsu, the traditional martial art of restraining captives. Over time, it transformed into an erotic art form known as Kinbaku, emphasizing the aesthetics of tying and the emotional connection between the partners.
In the modern era, Shibari has transcended its historical origins and is practiced as both an art form and a form of intimate expression. It has gained popularity in the BDSM community as a consensual and artistic way to explore power dynamics and enhance intimate connections. Shibari is not only about restraint but also about communication, trust, and the shared experience between those involved.

Who can join?
You can join as a complete beginner, or advanced.

As a beginner, you will get a basic introduction to shibari. You will learn safety, communication, boundaries, and basic knots to get your shibari journey started.

If you are already advanced in rope, the space is open for you to practice, share wisdom and meet new people ( and maybe help out the newbies here and there).

Rope jams are open to all genders, sexuality, and ages above 18 yo. You can come alone, or with a partner. There is also space for those who only want to be tied, acting as our practice rope bunnies.

Rope jams will take place the third thursday every month. To join, you sign up here, and vipps 50kr to 93636179, this will cover the rent of PlaySpace.

Please bring:
Waterbottle
Warm socks
Rope (if you have some, if not, we can provide for you to borrow)
Wear comfortable clothing, preferably a bit tight(like yoga pants)

Each rope jam might look different as time goes on, as we grow and learn, so will our jams, and there might be more advanced classes in the future. Our goal is to create a fun space for people to meet, and play with rope. Stavanger needs a rope community !
