💍 Jewellery Workshop

Carving a piece from jewellery wax, to be casted in sterling silver.
Make your own sterling-silver ring using the age-old goldsmithing method!

Do you dream of making your own jewellery, here’s your chance! This five-hour fun and relaxed workshop will walk you through the basic steps of hand carving your own ring out of jeweller's wax. Piera Shih, a jeweller and artist, will guide you through the process of realising your vision.

The course will begin with an introduction to lost wax casting method and how to work with wax material and how to use the tools for jewellery making. Thereafter, you can discuss your ideas with the tutor and work on bringing them to life.
After the workshop, your wax ring will be cast in sterling-silver, and polished and
finished by Piera. Your piece will be available for pick-up approximately 3-4 weeks from the workshop. ( By this workshop your piece will be ready before Christmas! )

*The workshop runs for 5 hrs.
*It’s suitable for complete beginners with no prior experience. Being spontaneous and working freely is also fun.
*It's not required to come up with a design.
*The workshop will be taught in English.
*The price includes the casting of your piece in sterling silver and enough wax
materials to create a standardised sized ring.
*10g of silver is including the price, if you plan to have your ring heavier than this, extra fee will apply.

About Piera Shih
Piera is a Taiwanese artist and jeweller based in Oslo. She has two years of intense education in Alchimia contemporary jewellery school in Florence, where she was trained as a goldsmith and contemporary jewellery artist. She then moved to Norway to further her artistic research. She had acquired her master’s in medium and material based art from Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo.
