Destigmatising Sexual Health - Group Support

Onsdag 29. april klokken 18:00 - 20:00

Doors open from 17:30, please arrive before 17:50

Mashti Community, Oslo

Please check the ticket confirmation email for practical information.

In this gathering we will explore topics surrounding sexual health and the transmission of sexual diseases. In a world that attaches a tremendous amount of shame to STDs, we hope to create a safe environment to share stories and advice when it comes to sexual health, in the hopes of destigmatising and normalising those conversations.

Together we will explore:

  • Shame around sexual health

  • How to have safe sex talks with partners or lovers

  • Normalising getting tested

  • Feeling "dirty" with a diagnosis

Responsibility over your own sexual health

A large quantity of sexually active adults have had an experience related to STDs, but often conversations regarding intimate health are still not being had openly and honestly. With the popularity of sex-positive spaces and non-monogamous pairings in recent years we want to encourage open dialogue about these topics to allow for safer experiences. This discussion is open to everyone, whether you have something, had something, had a "scare" or are just intrigued by the topic, all stories are welcome.

The event will be hosted by intimacy coordinator Imogen Noble, a regular at Mashti Community events and an active participant in the queer and sex-positive spaces of Oslo.

This is not a space for medical advice regarding sexual health, but rather an open room to share experiences and seek guidance on how to navigate the topic.

The group will have a maximum of 20 participants, to support confidentiality and trust in the group for connecting and sharing.

Host

Imogen originally comes from the UK, but has spent the majority of her adult life living and loving in Oslo. She is a trained intimacy coordinator for film and TV, working with consent, safety and intimate choreography for screen. Fascinated with all things relational, she uses a large part of her time reading up on sex, relationships and human connection. She is non-monogamous, queer, sex-positive and kinky, and uses all of these identities to inform her work, allowing for a multifaceted approach to intimacy.

Through Mashti Community events she hopes to help people explore these different forms of intimacy and push the boundaries of what it means to be "normal" in a world full of differences.

Please note that tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by us.
