After our initial group discussion on depression on September 10 and the valuable conversations that emerged, we are offering this topic again in recognition of the need and at the request of participants.

When depression enters our lives, it doesn’t just drain energy, it often steals our sense of self. It tells us we’re failing, unlovable, or broken. Over time, we begin to live from the outside in, disconnected from our needs, our values, and the feeling of being truly at home in ourselves.

In this session, we’ll explore how depression impacts our self-worth by reinforcing negative automatic thoughts, those quiet, repetitive messages in the back of our minds that say “I’m not good enough,” “I’ll never change,” or “Something is wrong with me.” These thoughts often go unnoticed in better times, yet they shape how we see ourselves.

The evening will include both guiding questions and time for open sharing, with space for anyone to ask questions. Together, we’ll explore how to identify these thought patterns with more awareness and curiosity, not to judge or push them away, but to understand them and loosen their grip.

Using principles from cognitive therapy and mindful self-compassion, we’ll reflect on how these internal narratives are formed, how they relate to our past experiences, and how they can be gently challenged over time.

This is not a session about perfection or quick fixes. It’s about recognizing the mental habits that keep us stuck, and creating space to reconnect, with ourselves, with others, and with the possibility of being worthy, even in the midst of struggle.

This is a group reflection, with encouragement but optional sharing. Together, we will find empathetic and practical takeaways that hopefully you can bring into your daily life. Come as you are, messy, tired, guarded, open, crying, smiling, all of you are welcome.

We will be gathering as a small group of up to 20 people in an intimate and fertile space. We invite anyone who has been longing for a safe, intimate space to listen, ask, and feel less alone. It's a soft landing for those with questions, and a fertile ground for those with stories and tools to offer.

Host

Kine is a medical doctor (general medicine family practice), registered nurse, and cognitive behavioral therapist, with a lived understanding of what it means to fall apart and slowly find your way back.

After years of battling post-partum depression and the slow erosion of self that comes from trying to meet everyone else’s expectations, she made a radical decision: to stop performing, stop pleasing and start living as her full, neurodivergent self. Through meditation, mindfulness, and deep inner work, she began the process of coming home to herself.

Today, she works with medication-assisted psychotherapy, helping others navigate the messy, beautiful terrain of mental health. Kine brings both clinical expertise and raw humanity into the room. She doesn’t believe in quick fixes or forced positivity. She believes in real talk, honest connection, and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to stop pretending.

She warmly welcomes you into this space a raw honesty - just as you feel in the moment.

Join us for an honest, compassionate conversation. This is neither therapy or a quick fix, but maybe you can leave with a clearer understanding of why you feel the way you do, and with inspiration for how tomorrow can feel a little lighter.
