For some, alcohol is used as liquid courage, and can allow them to finally do that thing they have been nervous to try. For others it can confuse and distort information, and may affect their understanding of what's happening. So how valid is intoxicated consent really?

This group discussion will revolve around the topic of giving consent when under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Whether you are able to give "true" consent, and whether there should be a hard rule, or take it on a case by case basis.

Many sex-positive and kink spaces in Oslo allow alcohol consumption, and so we will ask the difficult question of how much is "too much" when it comes to intoxication, and how that can impact a person's ability to consent.

This event will be a group discussion format aimed at creating an open and honest space to share stories and opinions. We are not looking to label things "right" or "wrong", but instead create a broader understanding of the topic and hear some of the many approaches to managing consent when under the influence.

- This event will not contain medical advice regarding drugs and alcohol, but instead focus on the ethics surrounding consent and intoxication -

The discussion will be hosted by Imogen who will guide the talk using her experience as a regular in sex-positive and kink spaces as well as her training in consent as an intimacy coordinator. Open to all who are curious about the topic!

Host

Imogen originally comes from the UK, but has spent the majority of her adult life living and loving in Oslo. She is a trained intimacy coordinator for film and TV, working with consent, safety and intimate choreography for screen. Fascinated with all things relational, she uses a large part of her time reading up on sex, relationships and human connection. She is non-monogamous, queer, sex-positive and kinky, and uses all of these identities to inform her work, allowing for a multifaceted approach to intimacy. Through Mashti Community events she hopes to help people explore these different forms of intimacy and push the boundaries of what it means to be "normal" in a world full of differences.

Please note that tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by us.
