Metro54 and M-Cult invite you to the first instance of Everyday Priorities – Art, Technology and Accommodations—a long-term series of gatherings and artistic commissions that rethinks how art, technology, and accessibility intersect.
This first gathering on March 25, 2025, centers circulation of knowledge, histories, toolkits and ways to collectively engage with urgent questions around access, power, technology and artistic practices.
📍Metro54 (Amsterdam) – In-person gathering (18:30)
📍M-Cult (Helsinki) – Live digital participation (19:30)
💻Online access available for remote participants
The histories of disability justice in arts and culture have been marked by shifting attention—without sustained commitments to infrastructural change. Everyday Priorities insists on moving beyond temporary gestures toward deeper, transformative (un)learning.
It asks:
How is space made to uphold the right to mobility, information, and technologies for radical expression by artists and their communities? How do hegemonic power structures erase certain bodies, deeming them disposable—and how do artists, activists, and thinkers intervene?
This gathering will open the conversation that will unfold throughout the program, setting the stage for future workshops and new artistic commissions. More details on participation will be announced soon—stay tuned.
Everyday Priorities – Art, Technology and Accommodations is created and curated by Metro54 and M-Cult. The project will also commission works by artists Flis Holland and Joy Mariama Smith and supported by the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux.
