Built with a low barrier to entry and no prior knowledge required, this course gives you a supportive, non-judgemental environment to learn the basics, avoid classic beginner mistakes, and write your first set so you're fully ready for open mics.
Best of all, there is no pressure to perform live just yet. Work at your own pace, test your material in class, and enjoy free access to selected That Comedy Thing shows for the duration of the course.

With over a decade of experience in English Stand-up Comedy in Amsterdam as a comedian, MC, promoter and booker, Alex is more than qualified to help you get started with your first steps in Stand-up. He’s been teaching for years and is dedicated to help all his students reach their maximum comedy potential. He is also the owner of That Comedy Thing who organise comedy shows all over Amsterdam.
