How to ensure DEI becomes part of an organization's focus for a diverse workforce?

Join us on January 25th, 2023 for a discussion about diversity, equity and inclusion in recruitment, and how we ensure we promote role models in professional fields. What steps has AWS taken to tackle the challenges of D&I within the company? What perspectives can we bring to support inclusion and representation in the STEM fields?

Joining us are two powerhouse speakers. Nathalie Håkenstad, Enterprise Account Manager at AWS will join us to discuss the leadership pillars of AWS and how diversity and inclusion policies are implemented within the company, what are the results and what can we do to bring more women into STEM.

Nathalie Håkenstad (she/her) is working as an Enterprise Account Manager for AWS. She is a Co-Lead for Glamazon in the Nordics and a board member for women@Nordics and BEN, driving ID&E discussions and initiatives forward not only internally within Amazon Web Services but also with partners and customers.

With more than 20 years of experience within IT, she is also actively campaigning around Human Right Rights focusing on the LGBTQ+ community and is a board member of FossePride, which was founded by her then 14-year-old daughter Isabella.

Our second speaker is Phaedria Marie St. Hilaire, a Dominican-born Science Business Leader with over 20 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries with a passion for people development and making a difference.

She has a proven track record of inspiring and driving cross-functional, multicultural teams to deliver results from her leadership positions at global companies like Carlsberg, and Novo Nordisk and from her non-profit organization, Professional Women of Color Denmark. In addition to a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Phaedria has over 45 publications and patent applications in Chemistry and Biochemistry.

At our event, Phaedria will share her experience of building a community for professional women of color to feel represented, and what it means to look for representation across the board when it comes to recruitment. Phaedria has sound knowledge of societal & industry trends in DEI and will share some best cases where DEI efforts make a difference in a professional setting, as well as point out areas for improvement and development.

This event is open to anyone regardless of gender, title, or level within an organization. We want to encourage leaders to join, as well as students, and have a fruitful discussion on how we can promote more underrepresented minorities in STEM, particularly when it comes to women role models who can inspire the next generation of leaders.

The event starts at 17:30 CET and we will have a networking session with food and drinks after the keynotes.

We plan to cover important topics such as:

  • The leadership pillars in AWS and what they represent for the company
  • Why is a diverse workforce important for an organization
  • How diversity and inclusion are tackled in recruitment processes
  • How can we support initiatives that promote role models for a diverse workforce
  • Examples of shared experiences where we can see a positive impact of supporting initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equity in organizations

You must RSVP to attend The event will serve dinner and drinks. Your ticket represents your commitment to join the event.
