Tee endale tassike teed ja tule naudi õhtut, mis on täis folk-muusikat!

KuumTuul on folk-fusion kollektiiv, mille moodustavad noored muusikud Edgar Pacheca Ruiz ja Marcelo Chacur Politano. Nad mängivad Ibeeria ja Ladina-Ameerika elurõõmsat ja rütmikat muusikat, kus ka eesti pärimusmuusika ja kaasaegse muusika mõjud on selgesti tuntavad. Viimase pooleteise aasta vältel on Edgar ja Marcelo tugevalt panustanud dialoogi loomisse Eesti pärimusmuusikute ja Ladina-Ameerika ning Ibeeria muusikaruumi vahel, rikastades mõlema poole teadmisi ja muusikalist keelt. Mõlemad muusikud õpivad hetkel EMTA magistriõppes ning teevad kaasa pärimusmuusikaosakonna töös õpetades, andes õpitube ja mängides ansamblites.

Leanne Barbo ja Sofie Meyer mängivad Fanø saare folk muusikat. Sofie Meyer on pärit Fanølt ja õpib Eesti Teatri- ja Muusikaakadeemias magistratuuris Helena Tulve juures heliloomingut. Teine jalg on tal aga oma kodusaare muusikas. Fanø saare, eriti selle lõunaküla Sønderho viiulimuusika on katkematult püsinud traditsioon ja tähtis osa saare identiteedist. Sønderhoningud lõunakülast ja fannikid põhjakülast Nordbyst on võitnud südameid oma imeliselt helge helikeele ja kaasakiskuva rütmiga. Aastal 2015 võitis see muusika ka Leanne Barbo südame ja kui Sofie tuli mõne aasta eest Tallinna, hakkasid nad koos musitseerima. Duo esimene kontsert toimus Tokyos, teine Lätis sõprade juures maal Ruķelis, kolmas Tabasalus ja neljas toimub nüüd, Zoomis. Duot saab kõigi ootuste kohaselt kuulda ka järgmisel traditsioonilise tantsu festivalil "Sabatants"!

KuumTuul is a folk-fusion collective, brought to life by young musicians Edgar Pacheca Ruiz and Marcelo Chacur Politano. They play the joyful and rhythmic music of Iberia and Latin America, mixed with influences from Estonian traditional music and contemporary music. In the last 1.5 years, Edgar and Marcelo have actively contributed to starting a dialogue between Estonian folk musicians and the musical worlds of Latin America and Iberia, enriching the knowledge and musical vocabulary on both sides. Both of the musicians are currently studying in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and join in on teaching folk music, leading workshops and playing in ensembles.
Leanne Barbo and Sofie Meyer play the music of Fanø island. Sofie Meyer has come to Estonia from Fanø and is studying in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, doing a masters degree in composition under the guidance of Helena Tulve. But she has continued to engage in the music of her home island. The traditions of Fanø and the fiddle music the island’s southern town Sønderho in particular, have remained continuous throughout time and are an important part of the island’s identity. The mellow, bright and catchy tunes from Fanø has won over many listeners; among others, it won over Leanne Barbo in 2015. When Sofie arrived to Tallinn a few years ago, the duo started playing music together. Sofie&Leanne’s first ever concert took place in Tokyo, the second one amongst friends in Latvia, the third one in Tabasalu and fourth here, in YouTube. If all goes to plan, the duo can also be seen and heard at the next traditional dance festival, Sabatants!
