On behalf of Luz — artist, vocalist and performer and long-time member of our volunteer team at Metro54 — we invite you to the soft launch of their new book : lost & found home(islands) on Saturday 19th September from 2pm until 5pm.
Alongside friends from Diasporic and Creole communities, Luz will host readings and conversations surrounding the themes of belonging, distance and relation and talk about the research process for their publication. There will be an ongoing screening of their short film Salt Sisters on loop throughout the afternoon, and an intimate concert of Cabo Verdean songs with Alice Leal Loparic.
Throughout the afternoon, we’ll play Cabo Verdean classics to pair with snacks and homemade juices. We’ll also have unique prints and drawings available to purchase!
