Kimchi! this is our community member Paul Kristjan Tamme's favorite piece to make for friends. This time he brings us all his secrets for making this interesting delice. Take two jars with you and one for a friend, and you will leave the workshop with your own Kimchi and the ability to make more of it in the future.
Kimchi is a fermented cabbage from Korea that is pleasantly spicy.
A traditional dish that has lived for over 2,000 years and is served in almost every restaurant in Korea, it has gained popularity all over the world today.
In the warm autumn season, it is the perfect food to invigorate your body and organism and awaken vitality; Kimchi contains plenty of natural probiotics, vitamins and minerals.
The workshop will be conducted by Paul-Kristjan Tamme:
I vividly remember discovering kimchi for myself a long time ago in an Asian store in Australia, sold in a large 2kg jar. When I tasted kimchi for the first time, I couldn't control myself and put almost an entire can into the skin. This taste stuck in my mind, and since I myself have worked as a cook in restaurants and gathered quite a lot of skills and knowledge in cooking, a few years later in Estonia I tried to revive this taste. I researched various sources of information about kimchiteo, and I started. At first I made it for myself, until my friends became interested, and later I started making it for others and also selling it at events. That's how it developed.
In the workshop we prepare traditional kimchi, or kimchi from Chinese cabbage.
If you have your own chef's knife and/or peeler at home, we recommend taking the utensils with you.
If you can't or don't have it, just come with a good mood and curiosity. "
