”Emme, sa pead oma eesti keelt practice-ima”: Myths and Facts about Bilingualism by Virve-Anneli Vihman, Lecturer in Applied Linguistics, Senior Research Fellow in Tartu university

Open to anyone interested in bilingualism, especially intended for parents, nannies, other caregivers, and teachers involved with bilingual children.

Passing on the language to future generations is a key issue for maintaining a vigorous Estonian culture and identity. Yet bilingualism isn’t something that happens in and of itself: it often requires work and commitment. To support bilingual children, it’s helpful to understand children’s psychology and linguistic development, as well as popular views (and misconceptions) of bilingualism.
